Service & Scheduling Questions

How quickly can you send a technician?

For emergency calls, we dispatch immediately — day or night, 365 days a year. For standard appointments, we typically schedule within 1–2 business days. We call ahead with a confirmed arrival window.

Do you charge extra for evenings and weekends?

We offer competitive flat-rate service call fees. We provide upfront pricing on all repairs before any work begins — no hidden overtime charges.

What areas of Tampa Bay do you serve?

We serve the greater Tampa Bay area, including New Port Richey, Palm Harbor, Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Spring Hill, Largo, Wesley Chapel, Land O' Lakes, Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, and Hudson. Call us if you're unsure.

Do I need to be home during the service?

We strongly prefer meeting with a homeowner or their designated representative to ensure clear communication about the system, findings, and any recommendations. We'll work with your schedule.

What happens during a service call?

Our technician will arrive within the confirmed window, diagnose your system thoroughly, and present you with upfront pricing for any needed repairs before touching anything. We explain everything in plain language.

Air Conditioning Questions

How often should I service my AC in Tampa Bay?

At minimum, once per year before cooling season — ideally in early spring. In Florida, where AC systems run 8+ months a year under extreme heat, twice-yearly maintenance pays for itself in prevented breakdowns.

Why is my AC running but not cooling?

Common causes include low refrigerant (often indicating a leak), a dirty or clogged air filter, a failing compressor, or a frozen evaporator coil. An Example HVAC technician can diagnose the exact issue on the first visit.

When should I replace my AC instead of repairing it?

We use the industry's 5,000 rule: multiply the repair cost by the system's age. If the result exceeds $5,000, replacement is generally more economical. We always give you an honest recommendation — we don't profit more from replacement than repair.

What brand of AC do you install?

We install premium Amana systems. They are engineered for extreme heat climates like Florida and come with industry-leading warranties. We service all major brands during repairs.

How long do AC units last in the Tampa Bay area?

With Florida's extreme summers, a well-maintained AC typically lasts 12–17 years. Systems that skip maintenance often fail at 8–10 years. Annual tune-ups are the single best investment you can make.

Heating Questions

Do I really need heating service in Florida?

Absolutely. Florida winters are unpredictable — we can swing from 80°F to 30°F in 48 hours. Cold snaps and hard freezes happen every winter. A heating system that hasn't been serviced in years fails precisely when you need it most.

What types of heating systems do you service?

We service all residential heating systems: forced-air furnaces (gas and electric), heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and package units. All major brands.

Is a heat pump more efficient than a furnace in Florida?

For most Florida homes, yes. Heat pumps move heat rather than generate it, making them 2–4x more efficient at mild temperatures. Florida rarely gets cold enough for heat pump efficiency to drop significantly. We can provide a full efficiency analysis for your home.

My heater smells like burning dust. Is that normal?

A brief burning dust smell at the start of heating season is normal — it's residual dust burning off the heat exchanger. If the smell persists, or if you detect a sulfur/rotten-egg odor, turn off the system and call us immediately.

Pricing & Financing Questions

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. For system replacement quotes, we provide a free in-home comfort consultation. For service and repair calls, there is a standard diagnostic fee that is waived when you proceed with the recommended repair.

How much does AC repair typically cost in Tampa Bay?

Most common AC repairs range from $150–$700. Major component replacements (compressors, coils) can range from $800–$2,500. We provide written upfront pricing before any work begins.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We offer several financing options with terms ranging from 12-month same-as-cash to extended low-APR plans. Visit our Financing page for current offers.

What's included in the Gold-Standard Maintenance Plan?

Gold-Standard Plan members receive two precision tune-ups per year (one cooling, one heating), priority scheduling, a 15% discount on all repairs, and waived diagnostic fees. Members consistently experience longer system life and lower annual HVAC costs.
